Current Service Opportunities

Garden Work -The Lord has blessed our church with land to help those in need. Last year, the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church garden provided thousands of pounds of produce to local food banks. How did this happen? Through the Lord's gracious blessings and people spending an hour or so, once a week, working at the garden.  No experience is necessary and all are welcome to join in this important ministry to the community.  For more information, call the church office. Garden work has started and the need is great due to the pandemic.  Contact the church office if you would like to be placed on the communication list for workdays.

Service Through Sewing:  A group making quilts/fleece blankets for refugees, backpacks for children in need and other sewing projects throughout the month from 9am -noon on Saturdays. Come and go when you can. Fabric is provided. The blankets, quilts and backpacks will be donated through Lutheran World Relief. During the pandemic, sewers are meeting on a limited schedule, with social distancing and masks required.  If you are interested, contact Greg or the Church Office for information.  No experience required! 

Lawn Mowing:  We have been blessed with a lovely property which is mowed by volunteers during the growing season.  Training is provided and sign ups are in the lobby at church.  More information can be obtained by calling the church office. 

Every Spring we partner with area churches in the area for City Serve.  This is a weekend of service to the local community.  The event is cancelled this Spring, but if there is a rescheduled time, check back for details.
