Staff
As usual, we are excited to have the following wonderful teachers on our staff this year! We are always happy to touch base with parents during pick-up and dismissal times when important information for the day needs to be shared. We request that any extended discussions with your classroom teacher occur at a predetermined time outside of class by a scheduled meeting, a phone call or through email so that drop-off and dismissal flow smoothly for all. Office hours for the preschool are generally 8:30 a.m.- 3:00 p.m. M-F.
Heather McIntosh
Director / Teacher
Heather has been with the preschool since 2012 and had taught a toddler class in Florida for 10 years before moving back to State College where she grew up. Heather has a Bachelor's Degree of Arts in Early Childhood Education with added emphasis on Special Education and Marriage and Family Studies from Liberty University. Two of her three daughters attended the preschool.
She is the preschool director as well the teacher of the for the 5-day class Monday-Friday.
Heather is a member of State College Access Church.
Malerie Mays
Almost-3 Teacher
This is Mrs. Mays' second year with us at Good Shepherd. She has been a valuable addition to our teaching staff. She graduated from Penn State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development and Family studies, as well as a Minor in Theatre. She has worked with infants and toddlers in the past before taking time off raising her two beautiful daughters. She teachers the Almost-3's classroom on Tuesday and Thursday mornings, assists in the 3-5 classroom on Wednesday mornings, as well as leading our Lunch Bunch sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons.

Sookkyung Kong
Assistant Teacher
This is Mrs. Kong's third year Good Shepherd Preschool. She was born and raised in Korea and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration there. She was a math teacher for young children in Korea. She came to US in 2008 and moved to State College in 2018. Mrs. Kong teaches Korean at the Korean School as well as assisting at Good Shepherd on Monday and Friday mornings.

Sharon Lieb
Assistant Teacher
This is Mrs. Lieb's first year assisting at Good Shepherd Preschool, however, our preschool community is not a new one to her as all three of her children attended our preschool many years ago. Mrs. Lieb has spent her time being a wonderful mother as well as a paraprofessional at Park Forrest Elementary for many years before joining our team. She assists in our 3-5 classroom on Tuesday and Thursday mornings as well as in our Lunch Bunch program on Tuesday afternoons.

Mackenna Ellero
Assistant Teacher
This is Ms. Ellero's first year with us at Good Shepherd Preschool and she has been a wonderful addition to our teaching staff. She is currently studying Early Childhood Education online through Liberty University and is an incredible and passionate dancer. Ms. Ellero assists in the 3-5 classroom on Tuesday and Thursday mornings.

Rebecca Shoalmire
Assistant Teacher
This is Mrs. Shoalmire's first year at Good Shepherd Preschool where she assists in the Almost-3's classroom on Tuesday and Thursday mornings, in the 3-5 classroom on Wednesday mornings and for our Lunch Bunch program on Wednesday afternoons. She is a southern lady straight from Louisiana where she was a Dental Hygienist before staying home with her son.
Rebecca attends Good Shepherd Evangelical Lutheran Church
You might see Cindy LaBarca, Catherine Droske, or Dianne Sefter helping in our classroom from time to time as well! They are retired from our staff, but love to add a little excitement to their days by coming back to preschool to help.
